How to read this ledger
A provider returns a provenance record with every payload, and the record travels to the interface unchanged. The ledger below is assembled from those same runtime records, plus counts and checksums extracted from the shipped manifests by a reproducible script, so nothing here is hand-typed.
Where a dataset has a limitation that affects interpretation, it is listed with the dataset rather than buried in a footnote. Missing coverage is never filled: it stays missing or falls back to a named lower-resolution product.
Verification policy
- Every binary asset is SHA-256 verified before it reaches the GPU.
- Disjoint ingest responses are hashed individually, and their ordered concatenation and source-id ledger are hashed separately.
- A candidate dataset with no checksum cannot activate; the metadata gate rejects it.
- Source terms, attribution and licences are rechecked before each production release.
- Data that is not redistributable is delivered as a build-time derivative or through a relay, and the derivative is hashed too.
Reporting a provenance problem
If a dataset appears with an incorrect category, licence, attribution or resolution, that is a correctness bug and not a cosmetic one. The ledger records the exact provider version and check date for every entry so a claim can be audited against its source.
